Jesus named James and his brother John; “sons of thunder “ for a reason.  They were so zealous in what they did,  even wanting to call down fire on a Samaritan village that opposed Jesus.  Which makes me ponder, if Jesus  had a nickname for me, what would it be ?  This is a great question for all of us to consider this weekend.

Whatever our personality might be, introvert or extrovert, God can mold us into saints.  We shouldn’t get discouraged by personality traits we might think are obstacles to being a disciple.  God can take whatever we see as negative and turn it into something positive.  Remember, he isn’t interested in changing who you are.  He wants you to allow him to mold and form you and use every aspect of your personality for his glory.

We were all created different.  I was created as Doug and therefore need to use my “Dougness “ to build up God’s kingdom.  You all are not Doug (thank God).  Rather you need to be who you are to the best of your ability.  What matters is together we keep doing his work and continue to learn from his example !

DeColores, Deacon Doug
