I am beginning today with a quote from Bishop Donald Hying of Madison, Wisconsin. “Racism is always a sin. Our society can and will, by the grace of God, overcome the injustices with which this sin infects our community. If we stand together proclaiming the dignity of every human person, created in the image and likeness of God, and together build a culture of life in which every person is welcomed, respected, and loved.”
We need to be people of life and liberty and that must begin in the womb and run thru our life until our last breath. St. Francis of Assisi said; “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light from just one candle.” More than ever before we need to be that light.
The two disciples on the road to Emmaus discovered that Jesus was with them when they read the Scripture and when they broke bread together. Let us continue to read the word of God and soon we will be able to break bread again together. Let us encourage one another and be light for one another as we continue as Travelers along the way for we know the risen Lord is traveling with us.
