Who were the people that Jesus called to follow him.  They were ordinary fishermen.  They didn’t look different than any of the other townspeople.  They didn’t look pious. They were regular folks.  When Jesus called them they were mending their net by the seashore.  They were not on a mountaintop retreat or in the synagogue.  Jesus simply said “Come, follow me”.  It was a personal invitation.

You and I have been personally called by Jesus to associate with him.  I have been blessed to go to a Cursillo and now I am called to do something that no one else can do.  It may be something I may never see finished, but I know that if I don’t do it, no one else will.

That’s how personal God’s call is to me through Jesus.  I don’t always understand what he is asking of me, but I’m sure happy to be called.  I can only imagine looking into his eyes and seeing the love and compassion there.  How could I possibly say “no” to him who loves me that much !
