Sometimes we think of religion as a system that’s telling us you have to do this, or you have to do that. Sure this is important but that’s not the heart of our faith. The most exciting part of our faith is discovering how much God loves me and all that he has given me. We get so busy that we don’t enjoy that discovery sometimes.
This weekend we reflect upon the fact that the Lord has given us the Spirit so that I may have life. Even more that I may be fully alive knowing how much I am loved. Because of him I have a destiny, and that I’m worth something.
God has given me so much. Sure I work hard to earn much of what I have. But who gave me the intellect? Who gave me the energy or the opportunity? Who filled me with the Holy Spirit? Now that’s the truth and no one can outdo God’s generosity. God always gives off the top!
