I’m still basking in the glow of another wonderful pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It was an incredible experience post Covid with very few pilgrims in the various places. At the Holy Sepulcher, we were the only group waiting to go in. At the church of the Nativity, we were the only group at the manger. All of us stood there and sang Silent Night which was spontaneous and not planned. These two sites in the past have had waiting time upwards of two hours.

While it was fantastic for us, I ask prayers for the people of that place who are still greatly struggling because of the lack of tourists. They need visitors to sustain themselves financially and also to know we care about them, which gives them the hope they need to endure.

All of you were in our prayers as we celebrated Mass in various holy sites each day. We put hundreds of prayer intentions in the Western Wall of the Temple. We also prayed for everyone in our two Cursillo Groupings; one in Tiberius in Galilee, and again in Jerusalem. We thank God that we were able to visit these places as we prepare to celebrate his birth in just over a month.

St. Joseph, pray for us !
