How would you feel if someone prophesied the destruction of your home, land or place of worship ? The Jews took great pride in their temple, so they were expectedly upset when Jesus predicted it’s destruction ! Jesus’ prophesy also included dire consequences for all who would reject him and his saving message.
 
Last week we were at the Western Wall, which is all that remains of this magnificent temple. It is still a very impressive site, yet not as impressive as the faith of those Christians living there and surviving there under extremely difficult conditions . They show to us great faith and belief in Jesus Christ. By our visit we give them hope that they can endure .
 
This Thursday as we give thanks, let us also thank God for the Christians in the Holy Land who remain and help keep alive for us those sacred places. Let us pray that tourists will return so they have a source of income once again.
