The Gospel today said that Jesus spoke with “authority”. Do we act like we believe that ? Do we believe that God’s word has the power to set us free and transform our lives ? Jesus spoke with authority like no one had spoken before. His authority was from God since he was God. 
 
When the Rabbis taught, they supported their teaching with quotes from other authorities. Thus they spoke with delegated authority. Jesus needed no other authority to back up what he was saying. When Jesus spoke, God was speaking. Therefore even the demons obeyed him.
 
So listen to him today and let him feed your soul in some peaceful prayer time. Take the nourishment that God offers you today. You will discover that your Heavenly Father can fulfill you as nothing else can ! That’s all the authority you need !
