In our gospel today Mark 2:1-12, a group of men bring a paralyzed man to Jesus.
They can’t get into the door of the house where Jesus is because of the crowd, so they drop him down from the roof to meet Jesus, and he is healed.
These men go to great lengths to bring their friend to Christ. They had an incredible faith and knew Jesus could heal their friend, so they didn’t let anything keep them from their mission.
This Gospel may cause us to reflect if we have this kind of faith in Jesus.
Do we believe in his ability to heal us and others both physically and spiritually?
If people in our lives can’t come to Jesus because of their condition, maybe can we bring Jesus to them?
In the final months of my Mom’s life, she couldn’t go to church due to isolation because of Covid, but I was able to bring the Eucharist to her. What lengths are we going to, in order to bring ourselves and others to Jesus for his healing?
