Today is the feast day of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. After his conversion, he was sent to proclaim the Good News to the Gentiles. In our Gospel today Jesus sends the Eleven into the world to proclaim the Gospel and the Kingdom of God. He also sends each one of us. That’s a pretty daunting task because the Kingdom of God is vast. It stretches across all of history and time. It encompasses all of creation. It includes more than any one country and even includes more than this tiny planet Earth.

So how do even think we can do this or begin this task ? Well, my task is simply to plant good seeds and know that the Lord will make them grow. I read an author that suggests that we may only be at the beginning of Christianity. In the centuries to come, people might write of this generation as the primitive Church. As such it is important then that we sow good seeds.

I may never see the effects of what I sow, but that’s not important. As St.Paul said; “We walk by faith and not by sight.”
