At the Sea of Galilee the disciples once again don’t recognize Jesus. Outside the empty tomb Mary Magdalene thinks he’s the gardener. On the road to Emmaus the two do not recognize him. In each of these situations however something happens that causes them to finally recognize him.
Many of us have had similar moments. Jesus is standing right in front of us, but we only recognize his presence when something happens to open our eyes. Even during struggles such as the pandemic we are going through, Jesus is closer than we realize. When you choose to believe that Jesus is loving you through difficult times, you are choosing to believe that Jesus is standing with you.
This is what it means to put our faith into practice. This is believing without seeing. This is choosing to believe that Jesus is with you, whether you recognize him or not. You are not alone, and he is not far off !!
