The gospel today is John 3:16-22. Most people only know John 3:16. They skip verses 17 thru 22. Deacon Shane in the Obstacles to Grace Rollo explains this passage very well. In fact it is the best “Sin” Rollo I have ever heard from any Deacon including myself. He talks about God’s judgement as either running toward the light so that our good works may be seen as done in God or preferring the darkness because our works are evil and we don’t want them exposed.
God is not up there to condemn us. We will choose him by the way we live our lives. It wasn’t enough for God to take away our sin, because in his abundant love he also wanted us to live with him eternally. He has opened heaven’s gates and always welcomes us in !
As you take time to pray during this “stay at home” time, let his free, generous, overflowing love flow over you ! Then let your hearts respond with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord who not only loved the whole world but also loves YOU !!
