Today we celebrate the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Holy Spirit was an intimate and guiding force in Mary’s life. As a teenager she had to explain an unexpected pregnancy to her parents, her friends and neighbors, and especially to St. Joseph. She continued to listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to visit her older cousin Elizabeth who was also pregnant in her old age.
Later in life she had to endure and witness the brutal scourging of her only son and his suffering on the cross. We cannot imagine how she felt. And yet I believe in the back of her mind she knew something great was going to happen. She may not have known the details, but she knew her son was special. In the midst of all this she continued to let the Holy Spirit guide her. Because of her great love and endurance she was crowned queen of heaven and earth.
When problems arise in our lives, we should think about Mary’s example and turn to the Holy Spirit. Mary’s yes to the Holy Spirit was a constant theme in her life.  It can be that for you also !!!
