How blessed Mary is with all the gifts she had received from God. We are tempted to put her on a pedestal and say she is so different from each one of us. Of course this is true, yet she is a member of the Church, as I am. She received the gift of redemption from the Lord Jesus Christ, as I did.
I celebrate Mary’s gifts because they are like the gifts I receive as part of being Catholic. She was sinless from the moment of her conception by the power of God. Each time I go to the sacrament of reconciliation, my sins are taken away by the power of God. Mary had Jesus within her and held him in her arms. When I receive communion, I hold him in my hands and receive him into my body.
We who are Catholic are blessed because of the incredible gifts we have received from God. Let us look to Mary to receive these gift humbly as she
did !
