When we read the gospel story of the two men who built houses, we must ask ourselves: what kind of foundation is my life built on ? What principles have I built my life around ?
Both men built houses. They both endured storms. And they both represent people who heard Jesus’ word. The difference is one put Jesus’ words into action while the other did not. That’s the difference between acting on principles and simply the desire to do right.

We all need a solid foundation built on principles. So what about my
foundation ? Do I have principles about forgiveness ? Do I have principles about not talking negatively about people behind their backs ? Do I have principles about prayer ? Do I have principles about generosity to the poor ?

What principles have I built into my life ? Am I on sandy ground so that when the storms of life hit, I fall apart? Or is my life solidly built on rock putting into practice the things that l as a baptized Catholic believe ?
