The prophet Micah reminds us what we have been told and what God requires of us: “Only to do the right and to love goodness and to walk humbly with our God,”. God is simply telling us to get back to basics.  He values acts of love even more than the sacrifice it takes to perform these acts.

We are beginning a new week, so it’s a great time to reflect on how we will show his love this week.  If you are concerned you might fall short of your goal, just keep it simple and just pick one thing to work on.  Maybe you can love your spouse or a difficult person in your life a little bit better this week.  Try holding your tongue instead of answering with a biting comment.  Or forgive a perceived slight by sharing an affirming word.  It’s sounds simple, but it not always easy.

The good news is, as you pick one simple thing to work on,  you will end up closer to God.  If you have a long list, remember you have next week also to pick a small thing to do.  Every little step forward helps us to better to love as God does.  Let us all draw closer to Him and walk humbly with our God !
