Today we celebrate our birth as a nation and celebrate the freedom won for us by our forefathers. Let us pray that this freedom, especially the freedom to worship as we choose, is never taken away from us ! Let us pray that we will always be free to speak the truth about life, family and marriage.
The word gospel literally mean “good news”. As we celebrate our freedom today let’s us also reflect upon the “good news” of Jesus Christ. Jesus came to set us free, not from tyranny or oppression, but from the slavery of sin, Satan, and the fear of loosing one’s life. God’s power alone can set us free from these things. The gospel of salvation then is the “good news” for everyone who will receive it because it truly sets us free.
Do you know this freedom ? Do you know the joy and freedom of the gospel ?
