When Jesus says that a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit, he is talking to us who are supposed to be people of faith. He isn’t talking to pagans here. He is addressing this to us believers and reminding us that we are called to go and bear good fruit. We can do it because God will provide all that we need.

So what does he ask of me in return ? First is to trust that He will provide, to trust that God created me to do something as part of God’s plan for the world. Second to trust that God will provide the means for me to do it. To trust that I am called to do something beautiful for God and he will support me in this endeavor.

Jesus says that by our fruits we will be known. So today let’s ask ourselves:
What fruits are we to bear ?
What is God asking of me ?
How can I possibly do it ?

Don’t worry, God will let you know !

St. Joseph, pray for us !
