In today’s gospel, Jesus teaches his apostles and us how to pray. As we complete our first week of Lent let us reflect on how we are doing. Jesus tells them that as they forgive, so the father will forgive them. If we do not forgive, neither will the father forgive us. As such I would like to ask you to consider the following:
1) pray the Our Father daily, asking the Father to forgive us as we have forgiven others.
2) take time to gaze on the crucifix and try to contemplate how much we are loved.
3) attend mass as often as possible, even daily, to receive the grace needed to forgive others.
4) immerse ourselves in God’s word, which speaks constantly of forgiveness.
5) make a Lenten confession and be immersed in forgiveness.
