Maybe it’s just me, but I always found it interesting that when the blind man Bartimaeus called out to Jesus, he stopped and said to him; “what do you want me to do for you?” It seems obvious to me that a blind man wants to see again. So he tells Jesus that “I want to see!” Jesus knew that. Why Jesus didn’t immediately heal him is something I ponder. Perhaps it was important for Bartimaeus to have to ask for a healing. Perhaps even though God knows what we need, we still need to ask.
Today when you pray, ponder in wonder at who Jesus is and why the Father sent him. Place your needs before him even though he already knows them. Let the truth about his power to heal dwell in your heart. Let this give you confidence as you bring your needs to him.
Jesus is the one who has forgiven you and made you a child of God. Jesus always hears you as you cry out like Bartimaeus and is filled with compassion and love. Never give up. Jesus in his mercy is always ready to stop and call you to his side !
At. Joseph, pray for us !
