Perhaps you have heard the old adage that says, “God writes straight with crooked lines.” It means that God has a way of accomplishing his plan through – and perhaps despite – the twists and turns of human history. Surely when the persecution of the early Christians started, it looked like a premature and early end to the Church. How could these believers survive such violent opposition to their beliefs ? Perhaps we feel a bit like that today !

But not even the violence against them could defeat God’s plan. The same is true in your life. Twists, turns, and crooked lines are sure to occur. Yet none of them can thwart God’s plan for you. He wants you to live with him forever, so he will do everything possible to help you get there. Remind yourself of this as you face life’s difficulties !!

Hold fast to what you know, despite what you can’t see ahead of you. We have no idea today when the next Cursillo will be held. Yet we must continue to love and serve the Lord in the middle of this uncertainty. Hold on to what you do know even as we wait for God to show us the next step. Listen to him as you pray. He will help you negotiate life’s curves and obstacles !
