The first line in today’s first reading from Act 12 is; “The word of God continued to spread and grow.” What was true then is still true today.  The Holy Spirit is still drawing people of every nation to Jesus.

So how does the gospel continue to spread ?  Through us ! Jesus has left us in charge of his mission. The thought of evangelization may seem scary, but you can make a difference. Start by praying frequently for the
growth of the church.  Pray that people will be looking for spiritual guidance once the quarantine is over. Pray for you family and friends who seem far from the Lord. Look for opportunity in your everyday life to plant the seeds of the gospel, and then leave the watering to God.  When the situation arises, ask the Holy Spirit for the courage and humility to share your faith.  You don’t need to have the perfect words, just be open and honest about your faith in Jesus Christ or Share a time when you felt his presence blessing you in some way.

For the past two thousand years, God has been calling his people to go out and share the good news.  May we commit ourselves to the work of spreading the gospel in our environment !!
