Jesus says in John 14:12 ; “ whoever believes in me will do the works I do and will Do Greater ones than these.”

As I said this morning at School of Leaders, I find that so hard to believe. How could we possibly do greater works than Jesus.  For instance he calmed the sea, gave sight to the blind and raised Lazarus from the dead.  I do not see me topping any of these things!!

It’s important for us to understand that Jesus wasn’t talking about only his stupendous miracles.  He was talking about the power of his words to change fallen, sinful lives into loving, humble, faith-filled children of God. The works we do therefore are “greater “ for two reasons.  First, because Jesus does them thru sinful vessels such as ourselves.  And second, because we can reach so many more people with the gospel than he could have when he walked on earth.  Jesus is now able to reach so many more people thru us who are scattered throughout the world.

As this pandemic comes to an easing of restriction we need to be vigilant of those who quit going to church.  We can make a difference in their lives and rebuilt the faithful of God once again !  Remember Jesus promised that you can make a difference in the world !

Go make a difference !!

Deacon Doug
