Have you ever wondered what it would be like in heaven with family members, especially those you don’t get along with?  What about those who have been divorced and then remarried? What will that be like with their ex-spouse and stepchildren? Even if we are not divorced, all of us may still worry about unresolved family issues.

The good news is that Jesus tells us there won’t be any conflicts in heaven. Scripture says God will wipe every tear away and there will be no more death or mourning. It may be hard to imagine, because life as we know it here on earth has so many problems, difficult situations or hard feelings. We see so many people intent on hurting others in so many ways and with so much abuse. But it won’t be that way in heaven and we will be at peace and we will love it.

So let us try to bring a little heaven here and now. Let us try to bring peace to our households and Thanksgiving gatherings next week. Jesus says he is the God of the living. That means he can bring hope and peace to all our relationships now. Let us place all our trust in him.
