In Matt: 21-42 Jesus says: “The stone that the builder rejected has become the cornerstone……”
What is my cornerstone ?
I belong to the Body of Christ. I am called to be someone who reaches out to people around me. I am to be a person who cares about the poor. I am to care about people who are unlike me. I also need to care about my city, my state, my country, my diocese, and the world.
Can I possibly make a difference in all of these places ? What effect can one person have ? The answer is plenty when the cornerstone of my life is rock solid in Christ. I have been given gifts by our God. My stewardship of those gifts is measured by kindness, forgiveness, thoughtfulness and love. It is measured by the question, “what good will this do for others?”
God put goodness in me. That is my cornerstone. God wants that goodness to blossom and to have an effect in my environment. What good works will I do this Labor Day Weekend with my gifts from God ?
