Happy Birthday Momma Mary !!
Mary is the only child of Saints Joachim and Anne. She is the only person who knew Jesus from womb to tomb. She was faithfully there in all the great moments in Jesus’ life. Was this providence or accident ?
All we know is Mary’s role in salvation history was planned by the Holy Trinity before the beginning of the world.
Yet as “special “ as Mary is, she was still human like each one of us. Her understanding of what God would do through her was limited by her humanity. She trusted that God would use her as required to bring about the salvation of the world. In the same way, every time we say yes to God, we can trust that his plans for us are bigger and better than our own.
Therefore it is with great joy that we honor Mary on her birthday today. We love her very much and join with all generations that have called her blessed. “And blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus ……!”
